{"id":1,"date":"2020-03-23T18:41:17","date_gmt":"2020-03-23T18:41:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/petition.stopthewall.org\/?p=1"},"modified":"2020-03-24T10:23:13","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T10:23:13","slug":"hello-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/petition.stopthewall.org\/fr\/2020\/03\/23\/hello-world\/","title":{"rendered":"No Israeli drones for EU&#8217;s anti-migration policies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since November 2018 the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) has leased through the Portuguese company CeiiA two Hermes 900 drones, so-called \u2018killer drones\u2019 manufactured by Israel\u2019s largest military company Elbit Systems. Under the \u20ac 59 million worth 2 year leasing contract, the drones are used mainly to implement the EU\u2019s repressive anti-migration policies. Experts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2019\/aug\/04\/drones-replace-patrol-ships-mediterranean-fears-more-migrant-deaths-eu#maincontent\">condemn<\/a> the move to aerial surveillance as an abrogation of the responsibility to save lives. Worse, the Elbit\u2019s killer drones are supporting Frontex and national authorities in Greece, where migrants and refugees have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymotion.com\/video\/x7sfiud\">targeted<\/a> with live ammunition at sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elbit Systems develops its drones together with the Israeli military and promotes its technology as field tested \u2013 on Palestinians. It provides 85% of the drones used by Israel in its repeated military assaults and continued inhumane siege on Gaza. Hermes drones have <a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2018\/08\/11\/israel-palestine-drone-strike-operation-protective-edge\/\">killed the four children<\/a> playing at the beach during Israel\u2019s attack on Gaza in 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These drones can kill but can\u2019t save lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, I demand:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>EMSA to stop using these drones and EMSA and CeiiA not to renew the leasing contract. \t<\/li><li>Our national authorities not to request these drones for use in their airspace<\/li><li>the European Union not to spend public tax money to finance Israel\u2019s military industry but instead to use its funds to protect human rights for all and not for the militarization of borders and the sea.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since November 2018 the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) has leased through the Portuguese company CeiiA two Hermes 900 drones, so-called \u2018killer drones\u2019 manufactured by Israel\u2019s largest military company Elbit Systems.
